Deborah Tayo Akakpo

Deborah joined GSHRDC in 2020, prior to her position as Programmes Manager, she had worked in several leadership capacities with both national and international NGOs and Corporate organisations; Senior Aftercare Casework Manager with the International Justice Mission (IJM), National Coordinator of the Gender Violence Survivor Support Network (GVSSN), Advocacy, Partnerships and Training Coordinators with the Women’s Initiative and Self-Empowerment (WISE), Corporate Social Responsibility Manager for Millicom Ghana Limited (TiGo) and as the Public Relations officer for the Obuasi Mine of AngloGold Ashanti.

She is a member of the Network of Women’s Rights in Ghana (NETRIGHT) and other networks/ coalitions.

Deborah holds Masters in Project Management and Social Work, from the Wisconsin International University College and the University of Ghana respectively, a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana and an Executive Certificate in NGO Management.
